SPY 16: The NEW Purpose of a Relationship
Show Notes

Are you tired of receiving the same old, ancient advice about relationships that no longer applies to this modern (late stage capitalism/divided and conquered) world?

There are no more dowries to be handed out (maybe?) and women are allowed to wear pants and have bank accounts now!

(Ya'll... that last one didn't happen until the 1960s!)

The wisdom our grandparents and parents once used to make their relationships work is NOT working for us now. It's actually HURTING our relationships.

All the therapy & couples counseling in the world won't solve for this mysterious & invisible disconnection you have been feeling in your relationships.

This disconnection stems from having inherited the outdated belief that the purpose of a relationship is status, security, and financial/physical comfort.

This foundation does not cultivate intimacy or growth, it actually fosters resentment, undue blame, and emotional insecurity.

I promise, you don't need to learn more about your love languages or understand pop psychology terms to solve for this.

You just need to ask yourself one simple question.

What do YOU THINK the purpose of a relationship is?

(Stop and actually answer this question right now.)

It's never too late to change your answer.

The world is changing fast. The name of the game is evolution.

And that includes an evolution of how we think.

My marriage and partnership is an example of a successful relationship evolution.

I am thrilled to announce that my husband, Steven Cornfield, is a guest this week on the Stop Punishing Yourself Podcast.

Today we are discussing what the NEW purpose of a relationship is.

We talk about the remarkable benefits of doing the work, knowing who you are, why being an emotional adult is so important, how it's SAFE to lean into our triggers, and how to handle conflict more easily.

We're excited to share our personal experiences, insights, and practical tips on how to cultivate more intimacy and growth. We're confident that it will inspire you to think about your own relationships differently
